 US, Japan impose fresh sanctions on Russia; all Indians evacuated from Ukraine's Sumy | Top Points


While Japan said it has suspended the assets of 32 more Russian and Belarusian individuals as part of international sanctions against Russia. Also, Japanese officials said exports of oil refinery equipment to Russia and general purpose goods to Belarus have been banned, the Associated Press reported.

Meanwhile, the MEA took to Twitter to inform that all Indian students stuck in Ukraine's Sumy city have been evacuated. A spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said the Indian students are en route to Poltava where they will then board trains to western Ukraine. The students will be brought home aboard special flights under 'Operation Ganga'

At least 400 civilians killed and 800 wounded by Russian forces: Ukraine

Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov released new estimates of casualties, claiming at least 400 civilian deaths have been recorded and 800 wounded. He said the Russian military actions have killed 38 children and wounded more than 70. Further, he stated that “these data are definitely incomplete”.

Reznikov claimed that Ukrainian forces killed more than 11,000 Russian troops. While the Russian officials did not comment on the casualties, but acknowledged several hundred deaths among Russian forces.Times of India
