Last night, Bollywood heavyweight Ajay Devgn fired off a tweet at Kannada superstar Kuccha Sudeep, criticising his remark that "Hindi is no longer a national language." The result was a carnage. More tweets were sent, and we could see one 240-character arrow penetrating the other, much like the awful CGI in BR Chopra's Mahabharata - thunder, lightning, and the works accompanied it. Singham-style, Ajay pounced. Sudeep screamed angrily. Twitter was irritated. The Hindi debate has reappeared. Is it, however, still there? Truth be told, netas have been slamming tables about this for a long time, and abhinetas have only recently joined in.
