Mighty Brahmaputra

<p>Did you know that the Brahmaputra River is one of the largest rivers in the world? Time for a lesson in Geography!</p> <p>Originating from the majestic Kailash ranges at an elevation of 5300 meters, this river embarks on an epic adventure.&nbsp;</p> <p>Flowing through Tibet, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Bangladesh, the Brahmaputra carves its path, captivating every land it touches.</p> <p>Covering a massive area, the Brahmaputra's catchment spans 2,93,000 sq. km in Tibet, 2,40,000 sq. km in India, and 47,000 sq. km in Bangladesh.</p> <p>The river is like a sea as one can't see the other bank of the river which has an average width of 5.46 kilometers.</p> <p>As it journeys from China (Tibet) to the Assam valley, the Brahmaputra encounters a dramatic change. The steep slopes flatten, giving rise to its enchanting braided appearance.</p> <p>Along its course in the Assam valley, the Brahmaputra is embraced by about 20 important tributaries on its north bank and 13 on its south bank.</p> <p>With an annual rainfall of about 2500 mm, the Brahmaputra basin thrives with lush greenery, especially during the monsoon months from May to September.
