<p>India&rsquo;s renewable energy sector is advancing rapidly, with a major development involving JSW Energy acquiring O2 Power, a leading renewable energy company. JSW Limited finalized this deal for approximately ₹12,460 crore. O2 Power operates renewable energy projects totaling around 4,690 MW, with 225 MW set to commence production in 2025. &nbsp;</p> <p>JSW New Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, signed an agreement with O2 Power, whose promoters include EQT Partners and Singapore-based Temasek Holdings. The valuation of O2 Power&rsquo;s assets considers their operational capacity for the next 30 years, with electricity production costs estimated at ₹3.37 per kilowatt-hour. &nbsp;</p> <p>JSW Energy CEO Sharad Mahindra stated that this acquisition, the company&rsquo;s largest to date, will strengthen JSW&rsquo;s position in India&rsquo;s energy sector and enhance stakeholder value. Regulatory approvals, including from the Competition Commission of India, are underway.</p>
